Safeguarding Policy | STEMpro Academy

Keeping our students safe, supported, and respected online

STEMpro Academy is committed to providing a safe, supportive, and respectful online learning environment for all students. This Safeguarding Policy explains how we protect the wellbeing of children, young people, and adults at risk who access our online tutoring services. It applies to all staff, tutors, contractors, volunteers, and third‑party partners involved in delivering tuition.

Our Commitment to Safeguarding

We believe every student has the right to learn in a secure and positive environment, free from harm, discrimination, abuse, or neglect. We are committed to protecting students from all forms of harm, including online risks, inappropriate behaviour, and unsafe practices.

Who This Policy Covers

This policy applies to:
• Students of all ages attending lessons online
• Parents or carers who organise or support student participation
• Tutors and academic staff providing tuition
• All online communication and learning platforms used by STEMpro Academy

Safe Online Learning Environment

We take the following measures to ensure safety during lessons:
• Tutors must follow professional behaviour standards at all times
• Lessons take place on secure video platforms with appropriate privacy settings
• Student usernames and personal details are protected and never shared publicly
• Tutors avoid private messaging outside approved platforms
• Lessons are scheduled with both tutor and student identity transparent

Code of Conduct for Tutors

All tutors are expected to:
• Treat students with respect, courtesy, and professionalism
• Avoid personal contact details or social media connections with students
• Communicate only via approved systems and lesson tools
• Report any concerns about student wellbeing promptly

Student Protection & Reporting Concerns

Students, parents, or tutors who have a concern about safety, behaviour, or wellbeing should contact us immediately. Concerns may include:
• Inappropriate language or conduct during lessons
• Signs of distress, abuse, or neglect
• Unsafe online interactions or breaches of privacy

You can report concerns to:
support@stempro.online
We commit to review all reports seriously and respond promptly and confidentially.

Online Safety & Digital Citizenship

We encourage safe and responsible online learning. Students and parents should also:
• Use secure devices and updated browsers
• Avoid sharing login details with anyone else
• Maintain a visible, supervised learning space at home
• Report any unusual or unsafe behaviour immediately

Data Protection & Privacy

We handle personal data in accordance with our Privacy Policy. Safeguarding includes safeguarding privacy: we protect personal information, lesson records, and communication details so students are not exposed to unsafe data practices.

Behaviour Expectations

Students and tutors are expected to behave with courtesy and respect. Any behaviour that is harmful, discriminatory, aggressive, or inappropriate will be addressed according to this policy. Repeated breaches may lead to removal from lessons or suspension of access.

Working with Parents & Guardians

We believe safeguarding is a partnership with parents and carers. We encourage open communication and welcome feedback on safeguarding practices, lesson conduct, and student wellbeing.

Review & Updates

This policy is reviewed periodically to ensure it reflects the best safeguarding practices and legal standards. Updates will be posted on this page with the “Last updated” date.
